We are looking for a knowledgeable, client-focused Personal Lines Account Representative to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building lasting relationships, providing exceptional service, and helping individuals and families make confident decisions about their insurance coverage.
You will work with existing clients and prospective customers, providing consultative service throughout the policy lifecycle—from renewals and policy changes to new business, claims support, and account rounding opportunities.
What You'll Do
- Create a positive, professional experience for everyone who contacts or visits the agency.
- Respond promptly to client inquiries by phone, email, and other communication channels.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.
- Review coverage and premiums at renewal and identify opportunities to improve protection or address changing needs.
- Process endorsements, requotes, remarketing opportunities, policy changes, and cancellations.
- Identify account rounding and cross-selling opportunities and refer Commercial Lines, Farm/Ag, Life, and other opportunities to the appropriate team members
- Process new policies when appropriate, including gathering information, preparing quotes, obtaining applications and signatures, collecting payments, and submitting business to carriers.
- Assist clients with policy, coverage, and service questions.
- Receive and document claim information, explain available coverage, and assist clients when issues arise during the claims process.
- Provide information to banks, mortgage companies, automobile dealers, and other authorized third parties as requested.
- Communicate underwriting requirements and work with clients to resolve issues affecting continued coverage.
- Request and document client referrals and route opportunities to the appropriate staff.
- Maintain accurate, organized client records and agency management system activity.
- Follow agency workflows, procedures, documentation standards, and carrier requirements.
- Stay current on carrier websites, agency technology, underwriting guidelines, and eligibility requirements.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development.
- Communicate proactively about workload, complex issues, or workflow challenges.
- Support fellow team members and contribute to a positive, professional agency culture.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma, college degree, or equivalent experience required.
- Previous customer service experience required.
- Computer experience required.
- Personal Lines insurance knowledge and experience strongly preferred.
- Property & Casualty license preferred upon hire; required within 6 months.
- Life license preferred.
- CISR or CIC designation preferred upon hire; required within 24–36 months, as applicable.
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills.
- Professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
